Assistant Housekeeper (m/f/d) – Cruise Ship

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading international cruise line, is seeking an experienced Assistant Housekeeper to join their onboard Housekeeping team. This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while working in a dynamic, multicultural environment at sea.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness by inspecting guest cabins, suites, public areas, and crew areas.
  • Support the Executive Housekeeper and act as deputy when required.
  • Handle guest housekeeping requests and resolve concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and support the housekeeping team to maintain company service standards.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, daily work assignments, and other administrative tasks within the department.
  • Monitor housekeeping operations to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Promote a positive team environment and provide ongoing support to housekeeping staff.

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or a related field.
  • Several years of housekeeping experience in a hotel, resort, or cruise ship environment.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Outstanding guest service and communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent German and good English language skills are required.

Contract Details

  • Initial contract duration: 5–6 months
  • Renewable contracts based on performance and operational requirements.
  • Accommodation, meals, and travel arrangements are provided by the cruise line in accordance with company policies.
